Note 126 — VII

Reading edition

Tarn (Antigonus Gonatas, pp. 321 ff., 449 ff.) has Demetrius slain in 258 B.C., and Berenice married to Euergetes, in 247-246 B.C. This position, which Beloch challenged (Griech. Gesch., III, 2, pp. 133 ff.), leaves unexplained the extraordinary delay in the marriage of the young couple and in the reunion of the two kingdoms.
