I give the spelling Ciramon as I find it in Mr. Bigelow’s contributions to Harper’s Magazine, 1875. (See Bibliography.) Nevertheless I suspect the spelling is wrong. In Louisiana Creole we say Giromon. The French word is Giraumon.
