Wright übersetzt die vorhergehenden vier hemistichen: „It knocks and slights those, of whom before while alive a long while it obeys the will,“ Thorpe dagegen: „adorns and lengthens the tedious time of those who ere living their desires enjoy.“ Meine übersetzung ist wörtlich, obwohl þara þe ær lifgende auch eine andere fassung zulässt.
