Note 6 — Front matter
Bernhard Harrison translation
It may be incidentally mentioned, and merely for greater precision, that the 1st Report of the Belgian Commission enumerates some of the “civilians” killed at Schaffen on the 18th of August. Amongst others “the wife of François Luyckz, aged 45 with her daughter aged twelve who were found in a ditch and shot” and “the daughter of one Jean Oogen, aged nine who was shot” and one André Willem, the sacristan who was tied to a tree and burnt alive”.
