It may be interesting to note the exact dates attached to the official instruments in Haedo's book. The Licencia of the General of the Benedictines was signed by his deputy, Fray Gregorio de Lazcano, at Valladolid on October 6, 1604; the Aprobación was signed by Antonio de Herrera at Madrid on October 18, 1608; the Privilegio was signed by Jorge de Tovar at Madrid on February 18, 1610; the Fe de erratas was signed by Dr. Agustín de Vergara at Valladolid on June 3, 1612; the Tasa was signed by Miguel Ondarza Zabala at Madrid on October 19, 1612. As we have already seen, the last-named signed the Tasa of the Galatea some twenty-six years previously.
