Note 23 — Chapter V
Emily Hill translation
In the summer of 1827, Chopin stayed for several weeks at his godmotherʼs house, from whence he took a trip to Dantzig, to see the old trading city which used to belong to Poland. He wished also to make the acquaintance of the Superintendent Linde, brother of the Principal of the Warsaw Lyceum, at whose residence Frederic had already met the sisters of these gentlemen.
