Note 15 — CONTENTS

J. W. Robertson (Francis Drake and Other Early Explorers along the Pacific Coast, San Francisco, 1927), in discussing Kroeber's analysis of the Fletcher account (op. cit., p. 177), says: "There seems to be no proof either that Drake landed at any particular harbor, or that anything can be adduced so specific as to establish his residence on this coast." The latter part of this statement cannot be maintained seriously in the face of Kroeber's presentation of direct evidence to the contrary.
