Note 155 — ESTETICA E ARTE DI GIACOMO LEOPARDI

Reading edition

Nel breve saggio che il poeta americano intitolò The poetic principle, troviamo parole come le seguenti: «An immortal instinct, deep within the spirit of man, is thus, plainly, a sense of the Beautiful..... It is no mere appreciation of the beauty before us, but a will to reach the beauty above..... That pleasure which is at once the most pure, the most elevating, and the most intese, is derived, I maintain, from the contemplation of the Beautiful».
