Reading edition

After a time Kihapiilani journeyed to the place where a priest named Apuna was living, and said to him: “I have been insulted;3 a dish of brine has been thrown into my face. Will you tell me the proper thing to do?” The priest replied: “I cannot do anything for you; but go you to Koolau, at Keanae, and there Kahoko will tell you what to do in the matter; tell him your story.” The priest then asked that, in case the insult were avenged he be given the land of Kula. Kihapiilani replied: “Yes, it shall be yours.”
