See Gir. Cambr. De Instr. Princ., dist. ii. c. 11 (Angl. Christ. Soc., p. 35). The author of the Gesta Hen. seems to look upon Geoffrey as the instigator of all his brothers’ misdoings, and scarcely ever mentions his name without an epithet of abuse.
