Eloisa

Note 27 — Volume II (continued 2)

W. (William) Kenrick translation

I should have but a bad opinion of the reader’s sagacity, who, knowing the character and situation of Eloisa, should think this piece of curiosity hers. It will be seen hereafter that her lover knew to whom to attribute it. If he could have been deceived in this point, he had not deserved the name of a lover.

Explore with AITake your curiosity a little further.
