Justice Matthew Babington lived at Rotherby, Leics. He was an ancestor of Lord Macaulay. Mary Radley states that he was the “Some Justice” addressed by E. Hooton (D. Portfolio iii. 6). He appears in Besse’s book of Sufferings as a persecutor (i. 335).
