Though, for reasons which will partly appear from the following pages, I should not put the matter exactly as Staigmüller does, I have no doubt that he is substantially right. Diels had already expressed his adhesion to the view that Herakleides was the real author of the heliocentric hypothesis (Berl. Sitzb., 1893, P. 18).
