Ut id in praetereundo adnotem, nullo modo, opinor, dubitandum est, quin in epigrammate hermae Alcamenis nuper repertae vs. 2 Ἑρμᾶν τὸν πρὸ πυλῶν dictum sit pro Ἑρμᾶν προπύλαιον (v. Conze, Sitz.-Ber. d. Berl. A. d. W. 1904, 69. Sed cf. Altmann, AM. 1904, 180). Simillimae enim sunt translationes Ἀκείλιος ἰατρῶν πρόμος pro Ἀκείλιος ἀρχιατρός et Ἑρμῆς ὁ πρὸ πυλῶν pro Ἑρμῆς προπύλαιος.
