Alvord's "Genesis of the Proclamation of 1763" in Michigan Pioneer and Historical Collections, vol. xxxvi, p. 20, and in C. E. Carter's Great Britain and the Illinois Country (Prize Essay of the Amer. Hist. Assoc., 1910) that any explanatory notes in this place seem unnecessary.
