The Prince of Orange issued a circular to the Governors of the Colonies, ordering all officers to be continued, on January 12, 1689, but it was not until February 19, that the proclamation was approved (Cal. State Papers, Colonial, 1689-1692, pp. 4, 7; Acts of Privy Council, ii, 122).
