Aubrey gives in trick the coat:—'checquy or and azure, a fess gules [Clifford],' surmounted by an earl's coronet. Anthony Wood has a note here:—'George, earl of Cumberland, A.M. 1592: A.B. Aed. Christi, 1608, quaere'—this latter degree belongs to Henry, fifth earl.
