Note 23 — LORD ST LEONARDS.[8]
Reading edition
We could fill a page with references to cases in courts of law and equity in which such judicial deference is paid to the “Vendors and Purchasers.” One or two of the latter instances may be seen in Matthews v. Bowles, 6 Hare’s Rep. 111; Wykes v. Lee, 3 Drury, 396. We should add that, with a dignified modesty, credit has never been taken, in new editions, for the adoption of rules which had been laid down by the author, or for the approbation bestowed on the work.
