Two other doings by this Pope are worthy of passing notes. (1) Being a Frenchman, he was the first to make France a traditional ally of the Roman See. (2) He concluded the celebrated Concordat of Worms, 1122, by which the rights of the Roman Church in relation to the Crown were defined.
