Inst., xxxiii, 1903, p. 37), ‘shows signs of yielding the isolated position which he originally took up as to the utter worthlessness of indices.’ He has recently affirmed (Archiv für Anthr., N. See also L’Anthr., xiv, 1903, pp. 587-8.
