Aeschylus' Prometheus Bound and the Seven Against Thebes

Note 137 — THE SEVEN AGAINST THEBES.

Theodore Alois Buckley translation

Cf. Ag. 174. Ζῆνα δέ τις ἐπινίκια κλάζων, Τεύξεται φρενῶν τὸ πᾶν. Dindorf would omit all the following lines. There is some difficulty about the sense of προσφίλεια, which I think Pauw best explains as meaning "such is the god that respectively befriends each of these champions."
