Abeokuta and the Camaroons Mountains, Vol. 2 (of 2)

Note 67 — Chapter III

Reading edition

This Hypericum (angustifolium) is described as one of the links between Fernando Po, Camaroons, Abyssinia, and Bourbon: it is common on the Peak of Tenerife, above 2000 feet high, and it ranges on these hills between 7000 and 10,000 feet above sea-level, where, however, it dwindles to a shrub. The smaller stems are as good as rose or cherry sticks for pipes.
