Note 10 — W. CAREW HAZLITT.
Reading edition
[See Warton’s “H.E.P.” by Hazlitt, iv., 214. Warton is very positive in asserting that the first edition was not in 1571, but in 1570, yet no such edition is at present known. The play, however, having been licensed in 1567 (Collier’s “Extr. from Stat. Reg.” i., 166), it is extremely probable that it was published even before 1570.]
