A Primer of Mayan Hieroglyphics

Note 71 — III. The Pictorial Elements.

Reading edition

Caluac is from calacal, “cosa muy agujerada” (Dicc. Motul). The mayordomo was called ah caluac, the baton being his staff of office. Landa omits the prefix by mistake, Rel. de Yucatan, p. 40. It is well shown on a later page.
