Note 705 — Chapter IV · SENECAN SATIRE AND POETRY: DRAMA OF THE AGE

Reading edition

Bücheler dates the Apoc. immediately after Claudius’s death. Hirschfeld (Kl. Schriften, 1913) connects the composition with Nero’s annulment of Claudius’s consecration (Suet., Claud., xlv). Bickel (op. cit.) accepts Hirschfeld’s date.
