Reading edition

Now Owensborough, seat of Daviess County, Kentucky. The original name of the place was Rossborough, but it was rechristened in honor of Abraham Owen, who fell at Tippecanoe. The undermining of these banks by the river frequently engulfs trees, and sometimes even drives people from their dwellings.-Ed.
