Note 112b — Chapter VII · WATSON’S FREE SCHOOL.
Reading edition
This date is definitely fixed by the fact that the fittings of the school were sold by auction early in the following year (1877), among them being a desk, still in use, to the present writer’s knowledge, in a neighbouring village school. The premises were afterwards purchased by the late Mr. Alfred Healy, for a corn store, and they are now the warehouse of Messrs. Carlton & Sons, Chemists, of High Street.
