He is thought to have derived something from Arnold, Versuch und Anleitung zur Poesie der Deutschen (2nd ed., 1741), a book of which I am still in search, while I should like to have rather fuller opportunities than I have yet had of studying Baumgarten himself and some others of the earlier Germans.
