Reading edition
Zedekiah, the last of the kings of Judah, paid dearly for his rebellion. He was captured on his flight from Jerusalem, and carried to Riblah, where Nebuchadnezzar slew his sous before his eyes, blinded him, and then sent him in chains to Babylon (II. Kings, xxv., I ff.).
