Note 19 — III. NOUNS
Reading edition
Neuter Gender.—Strictly speaking there is no neuter gender in Portuguese, but certain words have been called neuter (and also common gender) by some grammarians. Such forms are the impersonal definite pronouns isso, isto, aquillo, and tudo. The cardinal numerals also have no gender except um úma, dois duas, and those compounded of cento as duzentos-as, trezentos-as.
